The RAC meeting of the ICAR -Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation was held on 27th and 28th February 2023 under the chairmanship of Dr. A. K. Sikka. Dr. S. K. Dhyani, Dr. N S Raghuvanshi, Dr. G Jayashree attended the meeting at Dehradun whereas Dr. A. Velmurugan, ADG (SWM), ICAR attended the meeting online. The programme leaders, head of Divisions and head of centers also attended the meeting. First day of the meeting, a field visit was conducted to Manduwala, a SCSP village and also to different experimental sites and set up at the research farm Selaqui. The RAC members appreciated the outreach activities and unique field setup for experimentation on soil and water conservation. There were presentations on the second day. Director Dr. M Madhu welcomed the chairman and all other members of the RAC and presented the overall achievements of the Institute. Action taken report on the recommendations of the previous RAC meeting, and progress of the various research projects under 6 research programs of the institute was presented on 28th February 2023. The progress in the national fellow project, TSP and SCSP projects was also presented before the RAC. The chairman Dr. A. K. Sikka and other members of the RAC appreciated the action taken on the RAC recommendation and overall progress of the projects however cautioned about the kind of challenges anticipated and suggested being prepared to cope with the new challenges. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks by the member secretary RAC.
